REGISTER — Notice what is here.
What are you experiencing, noticing, thinking, feeling, sensing, remembering, observing—or simply aware of?
REGISTER makes room for what is present without requiring you to explain it yet.
Recovering Human
A place to recognize yourself.
Recovering Human is a framework and a place to explore the experience of being human.
It begins with a simple idea:
Your experience is information.
What you think. What you feel. What you notice. What you do. What happens around you. What changes. What repeats. What helps. What doesn't. What you understand now—and what you don't understand yet.
You don't have to organize it first.
You don't have to know what it means.
You don't have to turn it into insight before it belongs.
Capture first. Organize later. Interpret curiously.
Natural human input
Talk to Recovering Human as naturally as you would talk to someone who knows your history.
Your words are preserved as you gave them. They aren't silently rewritten or classified.
Over time, those moments become part of your Human Record—a longitudinal record of your own lived experience.
Not just what you remember today.
What you actually said then.
What happened next.
What changed.
What stayed the same.
What you learned later.
The taught framework
Recovering Human uses four movements to help recognize and explore human experience.
They aren't steps you have to complete or categories you have to fit yourself into. They give us language for movements that can happen within us, around us, and between us—sometimes separately, sometimes all at once.
What are you experiencing, noticing, thinking, feeling, sensing, remembering, observing—or simply aware of?
REGISTER makes room for what is present without requiring you to explain it yet.
A response can happen inside you or outside you. It may be a thought, feeling, impulse, behavior, choice, adjustment, interaction—or something you don't do.
RESPOND explores how we navigate from the conditions we're actually in.
This is the curious, investigative movement.
Ask questions. Look for context. Consider other explanations. Gather information. Test assumptions. Follow connections.
RESTORE creates room to explore, learn, discover, and understand more than you could from where you started.
Experience can change what we know without immediately changing how we live.
REFRACT explores the places where learning, understanding and lived experience begin to meet—and what becomes possible from there.
You don't have to sort yourself into them.
Human experience doesn't happen in neat categories. One moment may contain several movements—or none that are clear yet.
The 4Rs are a way to recognize human movement, not rules for how you are supposed to move through your life.
One longitudinal record
What you know later doesn't have to erase what you knew before.
You can add context. Make connections. Notice exceptions. Change your interpretation. Leave something unresolved.
Recovering Human preserves the difference between what happened, what you experienced, what you think it might mean, what you've learned, and what you still don't know.
Because those aren't the same thing.
And all of them can matter.
Return to your own information
As your record grows, RH is designed to help you work with it over time—through your history, Calendar Journal, Reflective Return, Personal Lessons, and Recovering Human's own principles, practices and resources.
The purpose isn't for Recovering Human to become the authority on your life.
It's to help you recognize yourself.
Open capture
Talk to Recovering Human as naturally as you would talk to someone who knows your history. You do not need to organize, categorize, or perform insight.
Held in your record
Calendar Journal
Move through your Human Record in time. Your original words, selected cards, and later context remain the center of each day.

From your Human Record
Original material stays intact. Later context remains visibly separate.
Personal history
Original entries stay intact. Add context or organize later without rewriting what you recorded then.
Reflective Return
Recovering Human can describe the record while leaving its meaning with you.
Nothing leaves this browser automatically. The local return reports only what it can calculate transparently.
User-controlled bridge
Create a source-labeled packet of your entries with Recovering Human’s authority and counterevidence instructions. You decide whether to copy it into ChatGPT; the site sends nothing itself.

Ownership & privacy
This release stores entries only in this browser. There is no account, cloud sync, or automatic AI connection.
Download a complete JSON copy of entries, addenda, annotations, links, tags, and cards.
Restore or merge a Recovering Human JSON export on this browser or another device.
Your entries are stored in local browser storage on this device.
Permanently remove entries from this browser. Export first if you may want them later.
Keep it close
After this site is published over HTTPS, open it in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. Open it online once so the application shell is ready offline. Your record will remain only in that iPhone installation until secure accounts and sync are built, so export it regularly.
Important for this phase
Anyone with access to this browser profile may be able to access its stored data. Clearing browser data can remove entries. Before multi-device sync or automatic AI, Recovering Human requires authenticated private storage, tested user isolation, deliberate provider retention settings, and account-wide export and deletion.
